Sports activities in Sobrarbe. What can I do?

We begin with one of the activities that attracts more visitors to our beautiful province of Huesca. Our region is full of wonderful sites that are worth visiting through its network of trails with long and short routes that can be done even with children.

Mountain activities

For mountain lovers, the Sobrarbe region is a must-see. And it is not only possible to do the hikes we mentioned before, you can also climb a tresmil, marvel at the glaciers and live incredible days of mountaineering or climbing.

In Pineta and Fanlo you will find two cross-country ski trails. In addition, you can do ski touring routes in Ordesa, for example, and in other areas of the region. And if you prefer alpine skiing there is no problem, as you have the best resorts in the Aragonese Pyrenees relatively close by, especially the French resorts of Saint-Lary and “the resort of Sobrarbe” Piau-Engaly.

In addition to skis, you can also put on snowshoes, an ideal alternative for a day in the mountains for those who do not have much knowledge but do not want to miss the opportunity to walk through the valleys, trails and snowy forests.

Water activities

Rafting, canyoning, kayaking… These are some of the sports activities in Sobrarbe that move more people to our beautiful region. And the rivers that irrigate it are perfect for lovers of these disciplines to try or continue to enjoy them if they have already done so on other occasions.

Cycling fans are also in luck. Our region has several mountain bike routes such as, for example, from Aínsa to Guaso, through Boltaña and Morcat, from Aínsa to El Pueyo or the circuits through Muro de Roda or the plain of La Fueva, among others.

In addition, there is the so-called Zone Zero, considered a national reference in Enduro routes, with the best roads and trails in Europe for cycling. It consists of more than 30 marked routes; in total, more than 1,000 kilometers in which to enjoy the mountains, landscapes and nature on two wheels.

The highest limestone mountain in Europe is the massif of Monte Perdido, full of caves and deep chasms in which speleology enthusiasts are curious to explore. Among these caves are, for example, Fuentes de Escuaín or Sistema Arañonera.

As you can see, there are many options. We at Casas Pirineo will be happy to recommend and advise you on the sports activities you can do in our region of Sobrarbe. An incredible way to get to know our environment, our nature and our landscapes.
