In it, we can find numerous remains of its medieval past and other artistic manifestations.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" data-id=\"5599\" src=\"https:\/\/casaspirineo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/La-Villa-medieval-de-Alquezar-300x200-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5599\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" data-id=\"5602\" src=\"https:\/\/casaspirineo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Alquezar-de-noche-300x201-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5602\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a town with a great <strong>tourist charm<\/strong> located in the <strong>Sierra de Guara<\/strong>, in the Somontano region, known for its great adventure activity of canyoning and canyoning.<br\/>We can walk through its <strong>narrow cobblestone streets<\/strong> full of a special aura visiting the Gothic style gateway that is still preserved (one of the three access gates to the city of Alquezar that existed in the past).<br\/>Also noteworthy is its <strong>castle-collegiate church of Islamic origin<\/strong>. It was a Benedictine monastery and its origins date back to the 11th century. The Torre del Vig\u00eda (Watchtower), some sections of the wall, the highest tower and a fragment of the Romanesque church integrated into the 14th century cloister date from this period. The <strong>capitals of the school of San Juan de la Pe\u00f1a<\/strong> (XII century) stand out.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the sixteenth century, the architect Juan de Segura built the colossal <strong>collegiate church of Santa Maria<\/strong>, consisting of a nave and polygonal apse, with starry vaults. The <strong>main altar<\/strong> piece and a 13th century Romanesque Christ, considered a unique piece, <strong>are important<\/strong>. From the cloister you can access the Museum of Sacred Art, with pieces ranging from the twelfth to the fifteenth century.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"743\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/casaspirineo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Alquezar-apaisada.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5605\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/casaspirineo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Alquezar-apaisada.jpg 743w, https:\/\/casaspirineo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Alquezar-apaisada-480x162.jpg 480w, https:\/\/casaspirineo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Alquezar-apaisada-380x128.jpg 380w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 743px) 100vw, 743px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From there you can make excursions on foot to the <strong>bottom of the Vero River<\/strong>.
